- Assist in identifying and implementing local legal requirements to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and industry best practices;
- Assist in identifying potential hazards and develop and implement effective mitigation strategies for both occupational and environmental Health and Safety;
- Develop, implement, monitor, and regularly update the organization's prevention and protection plans, ensuring compliance with current regulations and company policies;
- Create and disseminate Health and Safety instructions tailored to specific workplace activities and conditions;
- Ensure all safety measures are in line with current regulations and company policies;
- Ensure employee compliance with safety protocols, including adherence to the prevention and protection plan and safety instructions;
- Conduct and oversee regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, non-compliance issues and to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations;
- Prepare technical documentation for Health and Safety training programs, including development and delivery of training sessions, including periodic refreshers;
- Develop and maintain action plans for addressing serious and imminent dangers, ensuring all employees are trained for effective emergency response;
- Establish Health and Safety signage and ensure proper placement according to regulatory standards;
- Participate in the investigation of workplace incidents, preparing and maintaining detailed reports on accidents and incidents;
- Monitor and update safety plans, including warning, protection, and evacuation plans;
- Collaborate with local Health and Safety providers to assure the compliance with local regulations;
- Coordinate the activity of the local Health and Safety providers;
- Manage Intelex reports related to Health and Safety;
- Engage in frequent travel to various organizational locations as needed to perform duties effectively.
- Ensure that all Wizz Air Malta activities are carried out in accordance with the applicable regulations of Health and Safety;
- Have access to all parts of the organisation including any contracted organisation;
- Perform audits and inspections within company's locations;
- Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred;
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in health and safety and emergency situations roles;
- Solid knowledge in local/national HSE regulations and compliance obligations;
- PC user skills at advanced level (MS Office)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (education course in Occupational Health and Safety is a plus)
- Fluent English (both written and spoken)
- Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and provide hands-on assistance as needed
- Good problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of the organization
