As the premier gaming destination in North America, FanDuel operates across multiple verticals, including sports betting, daily fantasy sports, online gaming, advance-deposit wagering, and media.The RoleWe are looking for a Senior QA Data Engineer with proven data integration skills to develop and support Integration, ETL, Data Warehouse, as well as data driven services such as personalization or customer profiles offered as APIs and streams to other business units. You will be joining our great team of data engineers in building high-end, high quality applications in large scale low latency data environments (100TB+ in size).You will have the opportunity to work in an agile environment where you will team up with colleagues with experience in Data Warehouse, Machine Learning and more.This position involves working with and been part of a cross-skilled engineering team, and will have regular contact with teams looking after other aspects of FanDuel products & tools.The successful candidate should have excellent technical and problem-solving skills, a positive and results driven attitude, a strong communicator who can interact with both technical and non-technical people.Key Responsibilities / Duties:Work as an effective member of a scrum team - driving and contributing to the agile delivery process and taking ownership for your team’s software quality from concept to production. Own and devise the data test strategy.Create and promote the use of behaviour/test-driven development at multiple levels within the software by pairing with production code developers and product owners.Functional Testing of Big Data Integration & Reporting solutionsE2E testing - from source data stores through to reports, including test data set up.Partner with the Product Owner to ensure suitable understanding of requirement and design testing strategies.Review acceptance criteria for the user stories & ensure required test coverage.Own defect management lifecycleDesign & develop repeatable, automated test cases.Drive Test Driven Development practicesDrive Environments best practicesOwn data delivery regression test packTo be proactive and drive the building of effective relationships across Data and key areas of the business stakeholder community.To ensure risks and issues are identified in a timely manner and effectively communicated with proposed resolution and mitigation strategies to the Technical Program ManagerMentor and guide more junior members of the team.Experience & QualificationsEssential:Background in functional testing with the ability to plan, design and execute test cases.Proven diagnostic and debugging skills.Understands Data, Data Integration, Data Warehouse & Business IntelligenceProven experience of Hands-On testing in the data spaceUnderstanding of data lineage audits.Excellent experience in writing SQLProven experience in ETL/ELTUnderstanding of Data ModellingExposure to Continuous Delivery / Continuous Integration tools (e.g., Go, Jenkins)Excellent problem-solving skills.Demonstrates excellent people skills.Demonstrates exceptional communication, interpersonal skills and consistent high energy levels.Desirable:Experience of Agile software development practicesExperience of large data warehouse (10 TB+) with multiple sources and outputsKnowledge of the online gaming/gambling industryExperience in BI ToolsKey Skills & AttributesProactive work ethic with the ability to deliver results and meet challenging deadlines.Passion & flexibility to work the hours required to see projects to completion in a timely, accurate & efficient manner.Self-motivating.Attention to detail with a high degree of pride in work produced.Proven ability & desire to innovate.Strong analytical skills.Enthusiasm for the software development process.Good English language skills.Benefits:Hybrid & remote working options€1,000 per year for self-developmentCompany share scheme25 days of annual leave per year20 days per year to work abroad5 personal days/yearFlexible benefits: travel, sports, hobbiesExtended health, dental and travel insurancesCustomized well-being programmesCareer growth sessionsThousands of online courses through UdemyA variety of engaging office eventsDisclaimer:
