In 1999, Damen acquired the shipyard in Galati and introduced its standardised approach to shipbuilding. This involved inviting reliable contract partners to expand the yard's outfitting capacity. As a result, many Dutch companies opened their own branches in Galați, supporting the local supplier group and strengthening the links between the Romanian and Dutch shipbuilding industries. To date, the yard has delivered over 1,300 ships, of which more than 450 have been built by the Romanian-Dutch shipbuilding group in Galați since 1999 for customers in over 70 countries including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Sweden and the UK, making the Galati shipyard one of the world's largest exporters.The roleThe Finance Department is looking for a person to join the accounting team.Are you a determined, meticulous and detail-oriented person? Then keep reading because you are the right candidate!Key accountabilities

Receiving documents and accounting reports in electronic format, checking, recording, processing and archiving documents;
Accurate and timely recording in the accounts of all the company's financial transactions in accordance with general principles and internal procedures;
Reconciliation of stock records with the material balance;
Ensuring reconciliations with third parties (suppliers) as well as with colleagues in other departments;
Checking and analyzing accounting account balances;
Participating in the annual inventory of assets;
Preparing various reports and statements for management and various institutions.

Skills & experience

Bachelor's Degree in financial-accounting or economic faculty;
Experience in assets accounting;
Knowledge of taxation accounting;
Good knowledge in using an accounting software;
Advanced use of MS Office (Excel - advanced level spreadsheet);
Ability to analyze and check, attention to detail, accuracy of records;
Availability to work from the company office;
Knowledge of English, verbal and written, intermediate level.
