Mechanical Engineer (Fire Fighting)

- Be responsible for cost, quality and time schedule for a bid or execution project, including supplier and contract management activities.
- Proposal engineering: evaluate and comment on customer specification, customers questionnaire, deviations, compilation of proposal documents, cost calculations & info regarding transport / erection for mechanical scope, as well as customer contracts (specifications & requirements)
- Lead and participate in execution of mechanical sub systems / components of power plant projects, e.g., fire detection, gas detection, fire extinguishing systems
- Prepare technical specifications and inquiry documentation, but also customer documentation.
- Coordinate and optimize interfaces (piping, electrical, I&C, layout).
- Supervise contractor time schedules and costs.
- Participate in the design review process, while also reporting engineering hours, deadlines, quality and costs for the mechanical scope of the design groups.
- Coordinate the contractors with project and side requirements and review their engineering manufacturing and quality documentation.
- Claim Management and negotiation.
- Supplier development and qualification.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferable within the field of mechanical engineering, technical building systems or similar.
- Profound knowledge of international fire protection regulations (e. g. NFPA)
- Knowledge of various local fire fighting guidelines (e. g. BS, VdS, DIN, VGB, FM Global, etc.)
- Experience in designing fire protection systems
- Experience in project execution, supplier handling and contract management
- Ability to read process flow diagrams and construction drawings
- Good knowledge of fossil fired and regenerative power plants
- Site experience preferred
- Willingness to travel to international construction sites
- Readiness to stay for a limited time abroad
- Ability to work under time constraints
- Intercultural sensitivity, to work in a (virtual) international team.
- Excellent English skills.
