The Manager, Insights, Tools, and Reporting will lead a team of analysts and technical experts to deliver data-driven solutions and support our organization’s growth strategies. You will serve as a technical bridge to larger technology teams, facilitating seamless communication and collaboration. Moreover, you will take the lead on developing new small-scale tools to support various business needs, overseeing implementation to ensure successful integration and functionality into research production cycles. You will also ensure routine maintenance and upkeep of existing tools, systems, and infrastructure, coaching your team in effective problem-solving to resolve issues that arise.The successful candidate will oversee the scoping, development, and implementation of third-party application solutions, as applicable. Finally, oversee the technical operations roadmap within the Sustainable Fixed Income Operations Team to drive forward reliability and continual value of systems, tools and reports. The mandate of this role will support wider departmental goals such as improving the quality and ease at which we deliver a range of meaningful ESG products.This role will operate in a dynamic environment within a fast-growing and impactful global industry. The successful candidate will be accountable to maintain and enhance a portfolio of analytics and data-driven solutions including applications in Microsoft Power Platform suite (BI, Automate, Apps), SharePoint systems, Data Lake, cross-system data connectors, and a variety of other data sources.We are seeking a driven and entrepreneurial candidate with broad technology, operations and management experience to oversee the planning and execution of key technology-related operational initiatives. The successful candidate is a natural problem solver who balances collaboration and decision-making to achieve impact. Further, thrives in the face of ambiguity and is comfortable moving projects forward by actively removing barriers, defining next steps, and overseeing progress.As an inspirational leader, you will be expected to motivate a team of direct reports, increase skills across the team, ensure stability and improve performance. The successful candidate should have the ability to rapidly synthesize complex information, lead group discussions and drive strategic alignment across multiple stakeholders to gain buy-in.Job ResponsibilitiesOversight and direct management of a technical operations team based across Romania, Mumbai and CanadaDeliver a variety of technical mandates across the department, including always looking for ways to automate, speed up, simplify and improve qualityOversee the maintenance of our current systems and tools, proactively taking action to mitigate foreseen risks and providing guidance to unblock technical barriers to keep initiatives movingManage integrations and APIs between a variety of systems and data sourcesIdentify sources of complexity across the business and recommend technology-enabled solutionsMaintain SFI technical operations roadmap in collaboration with key stakeholders, documenting use cases and requirements to drive improvements and support scalingGuide the creation and upkeep of technical procedure, data governance, system architecture and related documentationDevelop a robust set of KPIs and metrics to monitor team and technical effectiveness, seeking ways to elevate ways of working on the team to support scalingSustain a high-performance environment and maximize team engagement by coaching teams in investigating, analyzing, and resolving technical problemsEmpower a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and unity to upkeep team engagementQualifications & Skills5+ years of technical working knowledge through direct development or team oversight3+ years of proven experience leading a technology operations team or similar, providing technical and people leadership on a day-to-day basisTechnologies: Microsoft Power Platform (BI, Automate, Apps), Asana, Python, SQL, LLMs, NLP and other automation capabilities are considered an assetKnowledge of data modelling with familiarity and exposure to a broader set of digital and cloud technologies are considered an assetExperience of bringing new ways of working into teams such as through Agile Development, Scrum and/or Continuous Delivery methodsProven track record of leveraging data to scope, develop and lead multi-functional initiatives of varying complexity that drive operational outcomesExperience leading technical teams through digital transformation or automation initiativesResourceful in seeking out information to develop and implement solutions across the teamStrong organizational skills to effectively oversee and prioritize several concurrent projects across the team with a reasonable sense of urgencyExcellent English verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including strong negotiation skillset to influence decisions across various levels of the organizationPerformance-driven in providing outstanding service and exceeding service levelsAbility to thrive in an ever-changing, scaling environment with continuous improvement mindsetAlignment with the culture and mission of Morningstar SustainalyticsB99_MstarHollandBV Morningstar Holland BV Legal EntityMorningstar’s hybrid work environment gives you the opportunity to work remotely and collaborate in-person each week.
