Its expertise and closely managed supply chain have been behind some of Damen’s most important deliveries to date, fully illustrating the group’s diverse product portfolio.The role As an Indirect Procurement Buyer, you will be responsible for the supply chain activities for goods and services that are not directly related to the company's main projects but are necessary for the smooth running of operations or to support organizational activities.Key accountabilities - Negotiating, contracting and purchasing materials, services, installations, equipment, semi-finished products and components from the assigned category
- Identification of suppliers and organizing the tender evaluation and supplier selection/negotiation process
- Coordinating supply chain functions to secure timely, quality and cost-effective delivery of products and services
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement activities
- Working closely with key suppliers to ensure availability, commercial and quality performance
- Increase transparency and communication by issuing Procurement Reports related to goods and services in own portfolio
- Ensuring that the procurement processes are correctly and consistently applied
- Analyzing technical and commercial conditions and determining a procurement strategy for each category in own portfolioSkills & experience - Bachelor's Degree in a technical, economic or supply chain field
- Work experience in shipbuilding, technical design or equivalent - is an advantage
- Excellent negotiation skills in dealing with suppliers
- Knowledge of strategic procurement
- Experience working with an ERP system (preferably IFS and/or SAP)
- Good working knowledge of MS Office package; PowerBI would be an advantage
- Knowledge of written and spoken English - intermediate level
- Excellent communication skills, persuasion and negotiation skills
- Team spirit to collaborate easily with other colleagues in the department/organization
