In this role, you will design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and architectures that support analytics, machine learning, and operational workloads. You’ll work with modern data stack tools including Snowflake, dbt, and Matillion or similar platform, and will play a key role in shaping how data flows and is consumed across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and Maintain Data Pipelines
Design and develop reliable, scalable, and secure ETL/ELT pipelines using Matillion(or similar platform), Python, and dbt to ingest, transform, and deliver data from various sources into our Snowflake data warehouse.Optimize Data Infrastructure
Work on performance tuning of SQL queries, table structures, and warehouse configurations to ensure efficient data processing and storage.Collaborate Cross-functionally
Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, product managers, and engineering teams to understand data needs and deliver high-quality datasets.Data Modeling
Design and maintain scalable dimensional and normalized data models within Snowflake to support both analytical and operational use cases.Implement and Enforce Data Quality Standards
Build data quality checks, logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure trustworthiness of data pipelines and datasets.Documentation and Best Practices
Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and code. Champion and enforce engineering and data governance best practices.Required Qualifications5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar roleStrong proficiency in Python for data processing and scriptingHands-on experience with Snowflake(or similar platform), including SQL optimization, schema design, and performance tuningProficient in dbt (data build tool) for data transformations and model managementExperience with Airflow (or similar workflow orchestration tools like Prefect or Luigi)Solid understanding of ELT/ETL principles, data warehousing concepts, and data modelingExperience with CI/CD tools and version control (e.g., Git)Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)For a closer look into what life at 8x8 International and the Cluj office look like check out our page.8x8 believes diversity makes our company stronger which is why we are a proud equal opportunities employer and encourage all of our staff to bring their authentic selves to work.
