- As the Payroll Lead for Romania, you will be required to be a subject matter expert (SME) in all areas of payroll processing on Romanian regulations
- You will be required to analyze and respond to complex issues that require comprehensive knowledge of payroll activities.
- As the SME, you will be expected to upskill and develop colleagues through training delivery and coaching to enable them to fulfil their roles.
- The Payroll Lead is expected to partner with the technical team and maintain the country solutions (standard legal reports, changes applicable at the country level).
- Ability to support and process payroll from end to end according to the defined standards and client requirements.
- Ensure that the payroll calendar is followed, and any deviation is dealt with via the appropriate change control process.
- Ability to learn and utilize the hrX suite of tools (hrX Assist, hrX Exchange) as it relates to payroll processing. HrX Assist is the ticketing system where Operations & client is maintaining the communication. HrX Exchange is the system between the client's HRIS (SuccessFactors/Workday) and SAP (Our client payroll system).
- Undertake, support, and manage a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) when an issue occurs resulting in a client escalation ensuring that mitigating actions are implemented.
- Proactively identify upsell opportunities and support the Change Request process when deviations from the contractually defined standard scope of service are identified. Understand client-specific payroll reports (other than legal) including legal year-end reporting needs as required by the customer scope of service.
- Maintains current knowledge of legislation requirements, changes, and payroll procedures.
- Own the quality of service (customer experience, timeliness, accuracy).
- Ensure compliance with Our client standards across services being delivered.
- Ensure lessons are learned from each payroll implementation project to ensure continuous improvement to standard methodology.
- Develop innovative approaches as part of continuous improvement efforts to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the operations team.
- Attend client meetings as required to resolve escalations and strengthen relationships.
- Answer payroll-related questions and requests from the team and clients; support the Operations Manager/Senior Operations Manager with client engagement activities.
- Update the Defined Work Instructions (DWIs) and other payroll process documentation.
- Ability to recognize and deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential information.
- Ensure compliant use of all systems.
- Recommend or participate in innovation activities to drive continuous improvement.
- Support project implementations and go-lives.
- Adherence to all Security and Compliance procedures.
- 100% Attainment of customer SLA agreements.
- Adherence to quality standards.
- Adoption and support of innovation initiatives.
- Reduction of client escalations through knowledge transfer to both clients and colleagues.
- Strong knowledge of the various inputs and outputs such as third-party interfaces,
- timekeeping, tax filing/compliance, benefits, and other key areas that integrate with payroll.
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility to support a global and fast-paced environment.

- Self-motivated and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment, as well as independently while adhering to
- BA/BS in a business-related field such as Accounting, Human Resources, Business
- Administration, or equivalent combination of education & experience.
- 5 years relevant experience administering Payroll in an HR consulting/HR Outsourcing.
- Expert knowledge of payroll processes, practices, and associated legislation.
- SAP knowledge.
- Payroll certifications.
- Experience managing small-medium scale projects.
