Provide reliable technical guidance to internal and external customers. You will focus on accuracy, timely feedback, and customer satisfaction. You will drive timely identification, investigation, resolution, root cause analysis and replication of technical issues. You will maintain and configure firewalls and other network devices and security appliances for internal and external customers. You will architect and implement solutions on internal projects, using the tools and networking products in Honeywell's portfolio. You will build internal relationships to escalate complicated cases. You will develop broad understanding of customer needs. You will support the knowledge-sharing mindset, methodology, and tools. You will ensure proper documenting and recording of all activity and communication.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform approved changes and periodic updates on firewalls and other network devices, while operating under strict change management procedures.
- Perform periodic reviews and analysis of firewall rules and ACLs.
- Architect, propose and implement networking-related solutions as required, for internal projects.
- Report findings and provide recommendations based on your analysis. If directed by management, attain familiarity with other security related products or devices by attending training or seminars with the goal of performing device management and maintenance tasks on these devices.
- Monitor logs and output from various software, and data collected by monitoring systems to identify abnormal situations, computer attacks, system downtime, and use of access rights or other information required by management.
- Follow management defined processes for trouble ticket creation, tracking, escalation, follow-up, and closure.
- Respond to key system alerts, interfacing directly with clients to investigate the issue.
- Determine the optimal solution based on experience and the internal Knowledge Base or escalate if the situation is new or there is no working procedure for it.
- Keep strict records of the activities carried out during working, as directed by management.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting industry leading firewalls and network equipment
- Direct experience managing NextGen Threat Prevention Platforms (Check Point, Palo Alto, or Fortinet)
- Advanced experience with TCP / IP networks (configuring functional and security aspects of switches, routers, firewalls and security appliances)
- Self-motivation and ability to work with little supervision.
- Strong analytical and solid comprehensive problem solving skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work collaboratively with numerous internal functional areas
- Ability to apply intuition, experience and judgment to available data to make sound business decisions
- Ability to provide on-call after hours support
- Effective written and verbal skill to enable strong communication capabilities.
- Ability to write / craft clear, understandable documentation that translates complicated technical processes to a target audience.
- Experience with development tools for unit and integration testing
- Familiarity with one or more of these scripting languages: PowerShell, Python.
- Familiarity with ELK Stack solutions, including designing and implementing Kibana dashboards.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Experience working with cloud-based systems, preferably Azure and AWS
- Information Technology certifications (particularly relevant Cyber and Networking)
- Knowledge of common configurations and practices for system security
- Experience with performance and availability monitoring tools
