We work with our plants and offices in Canada, the United States and other North American steel fabricators.We also have our own IT team developing software for internal use.Canam offers you a stimulating work environment within a dynamic group of hundreds of colleagues working in engineering and IT in different offices throughout Canada, Romania, India and the Philippines.Join our team, especially if you like to be autonomous, a team player, and have good communication skills.Our company offers talented and dedicated people a strong bond of expertise and pride.Job DescriptionCollect and evaluate project data in order to estimate the quantities, costs, resources and labour needed to produce construction elements in accordance with customer’s requirements and industry practices using specific tools and applications while ensuring project criteria are met and consistent with the corporate mission and values.Why should you work in our team?Working with us, you'll have the opportunity to work with an in-house application, Quotation Calendar and BlueBeam, exploring the complexity of projects in Canadian plants. The estimation is one of the most important steps in the life cycle of a project, a challenge for those who want to explore working with loads and joists pre-design. We make sure you have all the "tools" to shine!Essential Functions:

Gather, examine and interpretsinformation from project documents;
Report discrepancies and missing information on the contract documents;
Detect special conditions, components or possible issues and propose solutions;
Complete quantity take-offs for construction elements;
Complete project quotations;
Compute cost by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements;
Complete key plans, reports and lists as required;
Transmit complete and clear information to the other trades involved in the project;
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor;
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by interacting and communicating effectively with coworkers, supervisors and customers.

Qualifications

Technical faculty graduate;
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, specifications, governmental regulations, drawings and job specifications;
Self-organized, attentive, and capable of making decisions based on accumulated knowledge;
Computer skills;
Knowledge of the English or French language;
Good learning and communication skills;
At least 3 years of relevant experience in an estimation team;
Other competencies: verbal communication, collaboration, client focus, consulting others, stress management, continuous development, energy agility, autonomy, focus on results, respecting commitments.
