- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable data pipelines and architectures supporting layered data frameworks on modern data platforms.
- Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with business teams to rapidly develop data pipelines and analyses that meet evolving requirements.
- Partner with central platform teams to implement features that enhance data operations efficiency and reliability.
- Use and contribute to the data engineering toolset at Marsh, adhering to our best practices and standards while also helping to make improvements based on your experience and project requirements
- Drive adoption of DevOps/DataOps best practices, including Git version control, pipeline-driven deployments, and CI/CD workflows.
- Provide strategic guidance and technical leadership on data engineering best practices, cloud technologies (i.e. Databricks)
- Engage with stakeholders to address technical queries and promote data and analytics capabilities.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve data engineering practices.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Romanian.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles, including leadership or team management experience.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with advanced scripting and automation skills.
- Extensive experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, and cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proven experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps/DataOps methodologies.
- Ability to identify and proactively solve complex data-related problems.
- Experience working in fast-paced, client-facing, or consulting environments is a plus.
- Demonstrated excellence in both technical and business roles.
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Databricks Certification.
- Experience with DBT.
