Job Description Summary We are seeking an experienced and driven Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations within Bucharest generator parts manufacturing unit. This role is responsible for organizing and leading projects related to new premises, factory buildings, rehabilitation, new equipment, lay-out, renovations and optimization, developing, improving, and sustaining robust manufacturing processes for critical generator components, with a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will work cross-functionally with operations, quality, sourcing, design/repair engineering, maintenance, and EHS to drive process capability, implement advanced manufacturing methods, support new product and process introduction, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, insulation, and other generator component production processes as applicable.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and the capability to support both daily production needs and long-term manufacturing strategy.Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesOrganize and lead projects related to new premises, factory buildings, rehabilitation, new equipment, lay-out, renovations and optimizationDevelop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for large generator components and subassembliesProvide day-to-day engineering support to production operations to resolve process issues, improve throughput, and reduce variationLead process development and industrialization efforts for new products, product changes, and transferred workEvaluate current manufacturing methods and identify opportunities to improve safety, ergonomics, quality, cycle time, and costDesign and support tooling, fixtures, jigs, work holding, process flow, and plant layout improvementsDrive productivity improvements through Lean manufacturing, waste reduction, standard work, line balancing, and capacity optimizationPartner with design/repair engineering teams to improve manufacturability, serviceability, and costDevelop and maintain process documentation including routings, work instructions, control plans, PFMEA, process maps, and standard operating proceduresLead root cause investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing nonconformances, yield losses, process instability, and equipment-related issuesSupport capital equipment projects including specification development, equipment selection, installation, commissioning, validation, and operator handoffAnalyze manufacturing data to monitor process performance, identify trends, and drive measurable improvements in scrap, rework, downtime, and cycle timeSupport quality initiatives by improving process control, mistake-proofing, inspection methods, and process capabilityCollaborate with maintenance and production teams to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and preventive maintenance effectivenessEnsure manufacturing processes comply with all applicable safety, environmental, and quality requirementsParticipate in shop floor trials, process qualifications, and production readiness reviewsTrain operators, technicians, and support teams on new processes, tooling, and standard work as neededSupport supplier and internal process capability reviews related to raw materials, machined parts, fabricated components, and assembliesLead or support continuous improvement projects aligned to plant performance goalsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering disciplineMajor manufacturing engineering experience in an industrial production environmentExperience supporting complex manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, coating, insulation, or heavy industrial component productionDemonstrated experience in process improvement, root cause analysis, and production supportStrong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, process control, and continuous improvement methodsExperience developing manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and standard workStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively in a cross-functional, fast-paced manufacturing environmentStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in common engineering and business software toolsPreferred QualificationsExperience in generator equipment, heavy electrical equipment, or other large industrial component manufacturingKnowledge of machining large components, weldments, stator/rotor component manufacturing, insulation systems, vacuum pressure impregnation,
