Learn more about our team: https://careers.astrazeneca.com/romaniaWe are now seeking a Special Projects & Business Planning Manager, a strategic, insight‑driven professional who will play a critical role in shaping key initiatives, orchestrating market intelligence, and steering the business planning cycle across our therapeutic areas.What you’ll doIn this highly cross‑functional role, you will lead strategic and high‑impact projects supporting brand lifecycle management, disease awareness, patient engagement and market shaping initiatives. You will be responsible for designing and executing market research programs that uncover actionable insights to guide commercial strategy.You will also own the Business Planning cycle—managing funnels, tracking KPIs, enabling performance discussions, and ensuring alignment with commercial objectives.
Partnering closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales and IBEX teams, you will translate complex data into clear, compelling value propositions that drive decision‑making and strategic clarity.Key ResponsibilitiesSpecial Projects
- Lead strategic initiatives across in‑line and pipeline brands, including lifecycle management projects, disease awareness campaigns, and patient education programs.
- Coordinate cross‑functional project teams and ensure timely, high‑quality execution.
- Develop and oversee comprehensive market research plans to identify gaps, competitive dynamics and emerging opportunities.
- Synthesize insights to inform brand strategy, planning, and cross‑functional decision‑making.
- Own and orchestrate the Business Planning cycle, including funnel development and performance reviews.
- Define, track, and report on critical KPIs aligned to commercial goals.
- Enable leadership teams with structured business analysis, scenario planning and performance insights.
- Partner with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales and IBEX to ensure cohesive and insight‑driven strategy execution.
- Facilitate effective planning across Brand Teams and support internal alignment processes.
- Ensure adherence to AstraZeneca Code of Ethics, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrate AZ Core Values and uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior.
- University degree.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally within managerial, business intelligence, or commercial strategy roles.
- Strong understanding of the healthcare environment, stakeholder landscape, and regulatory context.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in complex matrix organizations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, project management, negotiation, and influencing capabilities.
- Learning agility and curiosity.
- High digital savviness, including the use of enterprise platforms and modern AI-enabled tools.
- Very good command of English, fluent in Romanian language
- Valid B driving licence.
